Over the course of four immersive hours, participants will explore how the body can be awakened, shaped, and guided by sound — creating a pathway toward a more embodied, expressive performance language.Workshop Breakdown: The first part begins with physical preparation to build suppleness and expand movement vocabulary, followed by vocal work that connects breath to voice as a physical impulse. Participants will then be introduced to five symbolic instruments from the performance work IT IS YOU — Kutti, Sysen, Djembe, Cymbal, and Flute — and begin responding to the unique textures and emotional cues of each.In the second part, the focus shifts to developing sensitivity to the tonal and rhythmic qualities of each sound source, including the voice. Through guided improvisation, participants will explore how movement can emerge from listening, leading to action-reaction exercises that form the basis of dramatic composition. This workshop offers a space to explore the deep and dynamic dialogue between sound and body — a conversation beyond words.
